Byron Writers Festival is Australia's largest regional writers festival, rooted in the Northern Rivers – a place where pristine coastline meets lush rainforest and a deeply bohemian creative culture. Yet despite its cultural weight and the fact that half its audience travels specifically to attend, the festival's digital presence had fallen behind – an unresponsive website and fragmented communications failed to convey the organisation's year-round impact and the transformative energy it evokes.

To bring the festival's digital identity in line with a refreshed branding, a fully responsive website was designed and developed to serve as both a cultural hub and a practical tool for a growing community. The site balances editorial richness with intuitive navigation, guiding visitors seamlessly between the annual festival program, year-round workshops, and the to connect with the organisation. The design draws on the textures and openness of the Northern Rivers landscape – generous whitespace and warm typography which create a reading experience that feels unhurried and immersive, much like the festival itself. The result is a digital platform that clearly articulates Byron Writers Festival's mission and regional identity – inviting literature lovers to discover, engage, and belong.
